Safety and Crisis Resources
Draft for counsel review.
Last updated: November 1, 2026
Coaching is faith-based formation. It is not crisis intervention, and coaches are not available for emergencies.
If you are in crisis
- Emergency: call 911 if you or someone else is in immediate danger.
- Suicide and Crisis Lifeline: call or text 988.
- National Domestic Violence Hotline: call 1-800-799-7233 or visit thehotline.org.
- Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline: call 1-800-422-4453.
When to seek professional help
Coaching is not a substitute for professional care. Please contact a licensed professional if you are experiencing:
- Thoughts of suicide or self-harm
- Severe depression or anxiety
- Trauma responses
- Substance abuse
- Domestic violence or abuse
Boundaries in coaching
- Your coaching relationship should stay professional. If anything makes you uncomfortable or crosses an appropriate boundary, you may stop coaching at any time.
- What you share is confidential, with limits for safety and the law. See the Coaching Agreement.
- You make your own decisions. A coach helps you reflect and discern; a coach does not tell you what to do.
